On February 12, 2025, the International Office, Tokushima University, organized a study tour “Let’s Learn about the Industries in Tokushima Prefecture”. This event was part of the Tokushima Prefecture International Student Community Exchange Promotion Project, which aims to foster stronger connections between international students, Japanese students, and local communities. Through activities like this, the project helps international students improve their Japanese language skills, deepen their understanding of Japanese culture, and supports their integration into the local community.
During this study tour, international students from Tokushima University, along with Japanese students, visited the Kitajima Plant of Taiho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and the Tokushima Factory of Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd.
Participants had the opportunity to observe the production processes and learn about factory operations designed with environmental sustainability and community engagement in mind. Through these experiences, they gained a deeper understanding of Japan’s manufacturing philosophy, which appeared to strengthen their motivation to pursue careers in Japanese companies.
The International Office intends to continue promoting exchanges between international students, Japanese students, and local communities through this project, creating more opportunities for mutual understanding.
