Notes for Being Engaged in a Part-Time Job

Students must observe the following rules when being engaged in a part-time job.
Violating the rules may result in a severe punishment or cancellation of your residence permit/status of residence.

  1.  Hours of work
    • You are allowed to work total of 28 hours in 7 days, and you must follow this manner.
    • You must keep under 28 hours of work per any period of 7 consecutive days.
      Example: Your working hours per 7 consecutive days must be under 28 hours in either case of counting from Monday, April 1 to Sunday, April 7 or counting from Tuesday, April 2 to Monday, April 8.
    •  You are allowed to work 8 hours per day only during a long term vacation which determined by the school regulation.

    ★ATTENTION★ Golden Week ( The holidays from the end of April to the beginning of May ) is not a long term vacation.
    *Tokushima University’s official long term vacation:
    ・ Spring Holidays: April 1 – April 5
    ・ Summer Holidays: August 1 – August 31
    ・ Winter Holidays: December 25 – January 7
    ・ End-of-Academic-Year Holidays: March 25 – March 31

  2. Students are NOT allowed to work at places for entertainment and amusement such as bars, pubs, cabarets, pachinko parlors, mahjong parlors, game arcades, etc.
