Government Scholarships (Applicable After Enrollment)
Japanese Government Scholarship (Domestic Selection)
In this program, the university select excellent students for the government-sponsored scholarship candidates to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Eligibility:
- Should be a self-sponsored international student, and
- Should be enrolled in a graduate course as a full-time student (or expected to advance to a graduate course), or
- Should be a prospective 4th-year student of an undergraduate course as a full-time student (prospective 6th-year student in a medical school).
Application Procedure:
- Early November: Deadline of Application for On-campus Selection
(Application should be submitted to the Division of International Affairs/Section of Academic Affairs)
- Early November – Early December: Selection of Nominees
- Early December: List of Nominees Sent to the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
- April: The scholarship program starts.
Scholarship: Monthly Stipend
- 145,000 yen (Doctoral Student), 144,000 yen (Master Student), 117,000 yen (Undergraduate Student)

Honors Scholarship for Private Funded International Students
This is for students who are recognized as excellent students and require financial assistance while they are enrolled in universities.
Eligibility:
- Graduate Program:
- Should be enrolled in a graduate course as a full-time student, or
- Should be enrolled in the university as a research student to conduct a graduate-level research.
- Undergraduate Program:
- Should be enrolled in a undergraduate course as a full-time student.
Application Timeline:
- Late March: Announcement to each university
- Middle May: Deadline of University Nomination and Start of Selection
- Middle June: Announcement of the Results
- Middle July: The scholarship program starts.
Monthly Stipend
- 65,000 yen (Graduate Student), 48,000 yen (Undergraduate Student)
- Scholarship is available from April to March of the following year.
