Message from the Director

Tokushima University’s Basic Philosophy and Policy for Internationalization aims to cultivate practical human resources with broad perspective and global awareness and who can collaborate with people around the world, as well as to deepen international collaboration in both education and research, and contribute to the development of the international community.

The Tokushima University International Center (TUIC), newly established in 2026, will serve as the core organization for implementing these principles and policies into specific measures and steadily achieving results.

With our overseas offices as key hubs, we will further strengthen partnerships with our partner institutions and collaborate closely with our overseas alumni associations (Tokushima University International Student Alumni Associations). We will also contribute to the internationalization of the region by collaborating with local companies, local governments, and other organizations.

We will also promote student study abroad opportunities and exchanges between Japanese and international students, striving to cultivate global human resources with intercultural understanding and an international mindset.

For international students, we provide comprehensive support from the time of admission through their studies and even post-graduation career guidance. In addition to enhancing Japanese language and Japanese culture education, we offer attentive support in academic learning, daily life, career development, and job hunting, creating an environment in which students can study with confidence and soar into the future.

Furthermore, by strengthening cross-departmental collaboration and promoting internationalization as a university-wide strategy, we will translate “philosophy” into “practice” and “policy” into “results.”

As a practical hub connecting the local community and the world, the International Center will work hard to further enhance the university’s international education and research environment.
