Guidance for New International Students

2025-10-23

The International Office of Tokushima University held guidance sessions for new international students on October 20 at Josanjima Campus and on October 21 at Kuramoto Campus.

The sessions were designed to provide essential information and advice on academic matters and daily life, supporting new international students in adapting smoothly to their new environment.

The event began with opening remarks by Vice President Takahashi, followed by a presentation on employment and career support in Japan by Associate Professor Sakata from the International Office. Representatives from the Tokushima North Pension Office then gave presentations on Japan’s pension system, and lecturers from the Tokushima Central Police Station spoke about important safety topics, including traffic rules, crime prevention, and daily safety. Faculty members from the International Office also provided information on residence status, scholarships, and other key aspects of student life. The students listened attentively throughout the sessions.

After the guidance, daily necessities such as tissues and toilet paper — donated by member organizations of the Tokushima Regional Council for the Promotion of International Student Exchange — were distributed. The students expressed their appreciation and delight upon receiving these items.

The International Office will continue to actively support international students to ensure they can study and live in Japan with confidence and comfort.
