Opening Ceremony Held for the 2025 Second Semester Intensive Japanese Course

The International Office of the Research Center for Higher Education at Tokushima University held the opening ceremony for the 2025 Second Semester Intensive Japanese Course on October 10, 2025.

This semester, 8 students from Ghana, Malawi, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia and Mongolia are participating in the course. Among them, three are teacher training students who plan to begin their specialized research at the Graduate School of Naruto University of Education in April 2026.

The Intensive Japanese Course began on October 8 and will run until March 6, with classes held every weekday for about three hours daily. The program focuses on learning the Japanese language, and it incorporates various approaches to help students understand Japanese culture and customs and build good relationships with Japanese people while respecting each student’s individuality.

During the opening ceremony, the participants were introduced following a welcome speech from Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Takahashi. Each participant gave a brief self-introduction in Japanese, stating their name, country of origin, and field of study. After the ceremony, the participants were full of enthusiasm and eager to engage in conversation in Japanese.
